EXTRAIT ORB: - (Probable tragedy marked the Sorties flown by S/Ldr E N Bunting, DFC & Bar, Pilot (B) and F/O E Spedding, N/R (B). They were chasing fast flying FW 190 at a low altitude when they ran into flak. S/Ldr Bunting reported that he had been hit, and fifteen secondes later an explosion was seen on the ground. This crew are reported missing, believed killed. S/Ldr Bunting was Flight Commander of "B" Flight and the Squadron has suffered a severe lblow in the loss of this able and popular leader.Original) - (AIR 27/1936/47 - source : Nat Arch UK - Traduction DC via Google): Une tragédie probable a marqué les sorties du Sq/L E. N. Bunting, DFC & Bar, pilote (B) et du F/O E. Spedding, navigateur (B). Ils poursuivaient un Fw190 volant à basse altitude lorsqu'ils ont été touchés par la flak. Le commandant en second Bunting a signalé avoir été touché, et quinze secondes plus tard, une explosion a été vue au sol. Cet équipage est porté disparu, probablement tué. Le Sq/L Bunting était commandant de l'escadrille « B » et l'escadrille a subi un coup dur avec la perte de ce chef compétent et apprécié.
